Charter train between Daraa and the Yarmuk Gorge, Syria, 13/9/2000.

This is a chartered train in Syria on the line from Daraa westwards down the Yarmuk Gorge as far as possible and back on the morning of 13/9/2000. The locomotive is 2-8-2 262 (Hart 4031/18).

Originally the line through the Yarmuk Gorge ran all the way to port of Haifa on the coast.  In the late 1940s several bridges on this line were blown up and the western part became part of Israel and so this scenic line was lost as a through route.
